“ Three kinds of salsa arrived in generous cups with a large basket of chips: salsa verse, salsa picante, and a pico de gallop.My palate isn't what it used to be, and though the flavor of the salsa picante was incredible, it was a little on the spicy side for this old gal. I had to stick with a very delightful salsa verse. I ordered 6 tacos, about twice as many as I needed, as it turned out, because each was filled nicely. Two were the favorite of natives to Mexico City: the tacos al Pastor, a taco with a history extending back to Anatolia. Two were barbacoa, a spiced shredded beef taco that is normally slow cooked in large pits for hours. The last two were lengua, or tongue, which can be tough if not properly cooked, but these were tender. All were served on corn tortillas "Mexican style," as I requested, with chopped onion and cilantro. My husband ordered a carne asada plate which came with retried beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado slices, and carmelized onions. He also got his choice of either flour or corn tortillas on the side. He got 5 corn tortillas served in a warmer. His drink was a pineapple agua fresca. It was delicious! His carne asada was well-marinated and flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive. We did pop in in-between lunch and dinner. We had been there once before on a Sunday. I wanted to go back to make sure that it had not been a fluke that we had found such amazing street-style tacos outside of California. Not a bit of a fluke. This is one of those places, like when you find a good pho place, a good yum cha place, the great burger joint, where the decor isn't the point. There are tables and there are chairs. There are some booths. There is a cash register and a kitchen. When you eat, you aren't admiring some artistic table setting or artful plating. You are enjoying the sweet stickiness of connective tissues that have been given enough time to cook down. You are tasting the depth of flavor that comes from someone who knows just how long to roast a pepper or carmelize an onion. You might not be able to visit the country, but you can visit this restaurant. ”
“ Tried 4 tacos, some of the best tacos I've had in the area (moved here 6 months ago). Chirizo was our favorite and the hot sauce was excellent. Will be back! ”
“ This was the worst place ever I used to like this and I decided to come back in town and try them again but the man at the register was so rude when I told him that the food had no flavor it was nasty they gave me sopes on flatbread when everyone knows sopes is on thick bread so that means he charged me for a taco pretending like it was a sopes so I let him know that everything was nasty and can I get my money back everything was still there hardly anything was touched because the beans and the rice and the tacos had no flavor he say no there's nothing I can do I told him yes it is something you can do the food is no good so he gave me my money back and told me to never come back I'll let him know there are better Mexican food restaurants in town then this one and I definitely will never be bk the rice had a fishy taste the beans will poorly the meat no so this one isn't my favorite restaurant anymore I've actually already found a new one ”
